For Interaction by Interaction with David Jenny || Talk 15.03.2018

Computational Typologies

Digital manufacturing technologies change the way we conceive architectural production, new material processes and construction methods enlarge our design space. The talk will introduce different ongoing research and teaching projects developed at the Chair for Architecture and Digital Fabrication (Gramazio Kohler Research) at ETH Zurich and try to develop a rhetoric on how design methodologies and conceptual frameworks adapt to deal with these technological advances.

David Jenny is an architect and researcher specialized in computational design and digital fabrication. Since 2015, he is a research assistant at the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication (Gramazio Kohler Research) at ETH Zurich, mainly engaged with teaching and exhibition projects, involving the development of digital fabrication techniques, mostly robotically controlled building processes, and their implementation in architectural design and construction.
